Now that I am on a bicycle more, I hear more and more of these kinds of stories and am astounded as to how little repercussion there is for negligence. I understand that accidents happen and this is why they are called this, but when you are in a vehicle that weighs 2 tons, there has to be some sort of responsiblity to uphold. Someone has to be held accountable for the actions being held behind the wheel. As a driver, we all need to be aware of our surroundings at all times. Especially when lives are at stake. When someone holds a gun, you can’t just pull the trigger while looking away. With a vehicle, this is a larger object with very little space for error. Please people please….keep your head up and pay attention to what is in front of you.
